Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
SWE Interactive Pocketbook ("Pocketbook") is an offline reference and learning app for software engineers on iOS, iPadOS and Android, published by Divided Bits ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the app handles information.
2. Data we collect
None. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, identifiers, advertising IDs, usage analytics or crash reports. The app has no user accounts and no server of ours. All book content is bundled in the app and works offline.
3. Information stored on your device
To remember where you are, the app stores the following locally on your device:
- Learning progress: chapters read, quiz scores, questions due for review, activity days and streak, today's daily question answer, and your reading position.
- Personal notes you create in the app: saved sections and your career self-assessment answers.
- Purchase state: whether the full book is unlocked. The app confirms this with the App Store or Google Play on launch; it is never synced or exported.
4. Syncing between your devices (iOS and iPadOS)
On Apple devices, the app keeps your progress and notes in sync across devices signed in to the same Apple Account using Apple's iCloud key-value storage. This data is stored by Apple in your iCloud account under Apple's privacy policy; we cannot access it. You can turn this off in Settings → [your name] → iCloud. On Android, Google's standard app backup may restore it on a new device under your Google account.
5. Export and import
"Export progress" copies a backup code of the information in section 3 (excluding purchase state) to your clipboard. Where it goes next is up to you; the app sends it nowhere. "Import progress" reads a code you paste in.
6. Purchases
The optional one-time unlock is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) as the merchant of record, under their privacy policies. We do not receive or store your payment details, only the stores' standard aggregated sales reporting.
7. No third-party SDKs
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution or crash-reporting SDKs, and makes no network requests of its own.
8. Children
The app is a professional reference not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
9. Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on our side. You can remove all locally stored data by uninstalling the app, and iCloud data from your iCloud settings. This posture is consistent with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, APPI, PIPA and KVKK.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the new version at this URL.
