Messages can hop through other phones running the app. Each hop is encrypted, so they can't read it.

X25519, HKDF-SHA256, ChaCha20-Poly1305. Sender and replay counter are bound in, so relays can't forge or replay messages.
Compare a six-word safety phrase in person. If someone's key changes, the chat pauses until you verify again.
You get a random name like quiet-otter-42. No phone number, no email.
Private or open groups, photos and GIFs, replies, reactions, delete for everyone, receipts and typing indicators.
Clear messages after 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days — on your device only. Lock the app with Face ID or a fingerprint.
No analytics, crash reports, ads or telemetry. Internet is used only for relays you turn on, the optional tip sheet and a short list of removed users.
Your profile page shows what you share — about you, or a business's hours and links. Filter people nearby by shared interests, browse their page, write first or save their business card to your phone. Shared locally, never via a server.

First messages from strangers wait in Message requests: Accept, Block or Delete. Offensive words are filtered, and reported abusers are removed within 24 hours.
