Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Reachbeam is a remote-desktop and remote-access client for iOS, iPadOS, Android, and macOS, published by Divided Bits ("we", "us"). This policy explains how the app handles information.
2. Data we collect
None. We do not operate any server or backend that receives your data. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, identifiers, advertising IDs, usage analytics, crash reports, or the contents of any remote session.
3. Information stored on your device only
To function, the app stores the following locally on your device — never transmitted to us:
- Saved connections (name, host, port, protocol, preferences) — stored in the app's local storage.
- Credentials (passwords, SSH keys, passphrases) — stored in the platform secure keystore: Apple Keychain on iOS/macOS, Android Keystore on Android. Optionally gated behind Face ID / Touch ID handled entirely by your OS.
- App settings (interaction mode, viewport, keyboard layout, trusted SSH host keys).
This information is included in your device's normal encrypted backups (iCloud / Google backup) under your account — we have no access to those backups.
4. Your remote connections
When you connect to a remote computer, the app opens a direct network connection from your device to the address you specify. We do not operate relay or proxy servers. Your session data — screen contents, keystrokes, mouse input, clipboard — travels directly between your device and your computer and is never routed through, seen by, or stored by us. Where supported, this traffic is encrypted (TLS/VeNCrypt, SSH).
5. Purchases
The optional Reachbeam Pro subscription is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) as the merchant of record, under their privacy policies. We do not receive or store your payment details — only the stores' standard aggregated sales reporting.
6. No third-party SDKs
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs. Nothing in the app transmits data to third parties.
7. Children
The app is a utility not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
8. Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on our side. You can remove all locally stored data at any time by deleting saved connections or uninstalling the app. This posture is consistent with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD, APPI, PIPA, and KVKK.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and post the new version at this URL.
